Wei-Yi has been studying the Linklater Voice technique for over 13 years, and was an interpreter and assistant teacher to Ms. Linklater herself. She is the fourth Kristin Linklater Voice(KLV) teacher in Asia out of a select company of about 200 designated KLV teachers worldwide.

Biography

Graduated from Theater Performance at Columbia University with full scholarship. SAG-AFTRA qualified actress. First Taiwanese actress to be invited to perform in the Director’s Workshop of the Sundance Film Festival. Won the Best Performance Award at the Dallas Asian Film Festival and the Best Actress Award at the Los Angeles Film Festival with the short film When Mom Visits.

In theater, she was nominated for Best Actress at the Planet Connection Theater Festival in New York with “Buddhas Are Screaming in China”. Co-starred in Lady GaGa’s music video “Till It Happens To You”. In 2017, short series “MA” nominated for the TriBeCa Film Festival in New York. In the same year, she starred in the Off-Broadway play “A Deal”, becoming the first leading actress in Taiwan to perform in English Off-Broadway.

Cooperated with movie “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke, Golden Horse Award director Zhang Qiaoyong, famous actors Ed Harris and Robert Redford, and US Tony Award-winning playwright David Henry Hwang and received great acclaim.
