Ray Tao has over ten years of experience in directing and scriptwriting. He joined Meisner training to enhance his ability to communicate with actors. Initially, his approach to acting was too rigid, with many defense mechanisms in his body suppressing emotional flow. However, after each moment of letting go, focusing on his scene partner and the present, he gradually opened up, allowing himself to be influenced by his partner and feeling the emotions flow.
The Meisner training allowed him to return to a childlike state, exploring inner emotions, gaining a deeper understanding of himself, and developing greater imagination and empathy—all essential qualities for an actor to achieve more freedom. After completing the Meisner training, he continued to study body and voice work, learning the interplay between body and emotion. With his keen sensitivity and attention to detail, Ray guides fellow actors to lower their defenses and unleash the freedom and impulses of their inner emotions.
