MOVEMENT

In our modern society, we tend to live “above the neckline”. We are often engaged in activities that are cognitive in nature, and that primarily require us to use our brain only. These activities disconnect us from the physical sensations that come to us through our five senses. Yet connecting with the body – and staying connected – is crucial for actors. All real emotions are physical by nature and that manifests itself through the body. Actors need to be aware of this and learn how to use it.

The Williamson Technique is an established teaching method that works seamlessly with the Meisner training. During the Movement workshop, you will learn how to liberate your body so it becomes fully available as an instrument of acting, allowing you to inhabit every possible character or persona. This training will also improve your flexibility, responsiveness, and emotional availability, so that the audience will see a more versatile, expressive and radiant performance.
