許筠杰解釋麥斯納表演課第一年的運作方式：
「我們是在一個想像的情境中產生行動，這些行動自然流露出情緒，而不是去演一個情緒。這對我來說是非常重要的訓練，因為在其他表演課上學不到這樣的東西，以前會想要假裝一些情緒出來。
但在這裡，我們做的完全不是這樣的事情，情緒可以非常飽滿。
每個同學都有經歷到非常極端的情緒，無論是狂怒還是極度的興奮和開心。
所以，『Acting is Doing』這句話在整個麥斯納的訓練中完全展現出來。」

Alpha Hsu explains how the first year of Meisner acting class works:
“We take action in an imaginary situation, and these actions naturally express emotions rather than us acting out an emotion. This is a very important training for me because I couldn’t learn this in other acting classes, where I would try to fake some emotions.
But here, we don’t do that at all, and the emotions can be very full.
Every student has experienced extremely intense emotions, whether it’s rage or extreme excitement and happiness.
So, the phrase ‘Acting is Doing’ is fully demonstrated in the entire Meisner training.”
